"Aa Ya Ka Ama Koo Lai Kah"
The Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians is committed to protecting all Sherwood Tribal lands and has administered an Environmental Protection Agency Indian General Assistant Program (EPA-GAP) grant since 1996.
The EPA Department has developed a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) which includes Solid Waste Management, Recycling, and Water ordinances. Grants the EPA Department applied for include a National Resource Conservation Services (NRCS) grant for fuel reduction activities on all Tribal lands.
The EPA Department also has a Water Pollution Control grant and a Non-Point Source grant which has been used to fund important creek restoration activities on the Original Rancheria. The EPA staff monitors all Sherwood Tribal lands, creeks, and water all year long and will continue working on many projects in coming years to improve relations with environmental professionals, Tribal Council, and Tribal Members on the important need to vigilantly protect our lands, water, air and other natural resources.
For Tribal Members living on Sherwood reservation lands, if you need to contact the Water Operator for any reason, please call Rocky James at (707) 354-4844.
