Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians, Tribal Business, Human Resource Department strives to be the premier employer in the Willits area.  The Human Resource Department manages all business matters of hiring, employment opportunity and compliance of Tribal labor laws.

What Our Human Resource Department strives to accomplish:
Sherwood Valley Human Resource Department handles all personnel matters that include:
 Posting job announcements
 Managing the labor pool
 Updating and revising policy and procedures
 Managing of personnel files
 Providing all membership of current open positions
 Maintaining compliance with state and federal labor laws
 Managing insurance benefits
 Providing an “Open Door” Policy for employee accessibility

Services offered to Sherwood Tribal Members include:

Labor Pool: The labor pool is utilized by Tribal Managers for short-term work assignments.  To be considered for these positions the labor pool and SVR application documents must be on file.  Applications must be annually updated to continue in the labor pool.  When temporary positions become open, the Human Resource Manager will contact the labor pool applicants for appointment to be drug tested and placed in positions. Open Door Policy: To ensure employment equality to employees, an Open Door Policy welcomes all employee questions and concerns to be addressed formally or non-formally.  The Human Resource Manager assures all meetings and visits are confidential and private to the parties involved.

On the Job Training: Sherwood Valley continues to network with California Indian Manpower Consortium (CIMC) to provide Native Employment agreements for Sherwood Valley tribal members.  CIMC establishes eligibility of participants to work on site for short term assignments for job preparation and permanent placements.
